celebrate

I wrote about Mallory’s birthday last year and had to again this year since she always does the best things! This year the princess turned seventeen had her birthday at Mozambique restaurant in Laguna. Mozambique is a South-African inspired restaurant with very spicy food, roof seating, and a cage with exotic birds! Their valet also charges six dollars, so be prepared so you don’t have a meltdown like Amanda. I brought my camera and took a million pictures of my beautiful friends. Never have I met such beautiful people who are genuine inside and out, and my camera can only capture half of their beauty.

At the restaurant, Mallory made the cutest name tags (below). Mostly everyone ordered some form of Ahi, but I got my favorite item: the Peri Peri chicken. It’s a chicken breast served with roasted vegetables and rice, topped with a peri peri sauce. I wasn’t really eating, instead I was mostly posing or running around finding the perfect angle because I am extra like that. It works though because my friends are the most extra people on the planet! Our table was at the end of the restaurant and allowed us to be as obnoxious as we wanted. Here are some pictures at the restaurant:

After our late lunch, we drove down to our group’s favorite place: Active Culture. Active Culture is a natural foods cafe and yogurt shop. It’s like a healthier and tastier version of Yogurtland. I got the pom-ras  and orange guava with chocolate chips. Side note: key to Raiya’s heart is her yogurt order which is pom-ras with quinoa chips and if she’s in the mood (which you’ll never know), she’ll get vanilla too. The flavors I got are dairy free and Active Culture has MANY vegan options. It’s super healthy and feel good food at the same time. This was my first time at the Laguna location, usually I go to the one in San Clemente, so I was super excited when I walked in and saw a little art exhibit in the back! So I bought yogurt and ran into the room with my camera and made my friends pose for me. I love taking pictures of people in front of art because you end up with a whole new work just by adding someone next to a masterpiece. Also, to be honest, the lighting they use in museums is so dang nice. Here are some pictures:

After, Mallory and I drove home in her mini cooper with the sunroof down blasting some Kanye West and Chance the Rapper and I was so happy. I love Mallory and all my friends.

I was feeling my outfit and everyone looked so cute and stylish! I wore yellow satin butterfly pants from Urban Outfitters, black heels from Urban, and a black crop top that someone made for me. My purse is Coach and is from the 80s, and it’s the same mustard yellow as my pants. I did my makeup using the Modern Renaissance pallet from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Also, this wall made my heart beat faster because it was made for my outfit. ALSO, shout out to Alli for having a Juicy Couture backpack, you’re the best.

Here are some more beautiful pictures since I took 766 and someone needs to see at least some of them. THANKS FOR READING XXX!
