My Kind of Camping

BEST DAY EVER!!!!

Today I ventured with Lauren down to two of my favorite places: the LAB anti mall and the Camp. The Lab and the Camp are shopping/food centers across from each other in Costa Mesa. The Lab has places like Honey and Butter, Seabird kitchen (pictured below), Urban Outfitters and the Camp is home to SEED, Milk and Honey, Native Foods, and more!

FOOD

The Lab:

First we drove down to the Lab to eat and take pictures. But first we sprinted over to Honey and Butter. Honey and Butter is one of the little trailer shops (all of the small businesses at the Camp and the Lab are in trailers) that sells artisan macaroons. They sell out super fast, so it was closed by the time we got there. They create beautiful designs on their macaroons, which are filled with unique creams. We then went to Seabird Kitchen. There we ordered the Jack Sliders, the Old Town Grilled Cheese, and the natural cut fries. The grilled cheese was one of the most amazing and interesting grilled cheeses I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten A LOT of grilled cheeses. This one had sharp cheddar and creamy avocado sauce. The sliders were okay; they had a very different and sweet taste. The paprika fries were probably the best fancy french fires I have ever had so I highly recommend you look past the price and order them. We then stopped at other trailer stores and walked over to the Camp.

The Camp:

Of course our first stop was a tea shop. Milk and Honey is located on the outskirts of the Camp next to great places like Umami Burger. Here I ordered my usual which is the iced lavender tea latte made with soy milk and Lauren got an iced vanilla chai latte. This shop has a really cute out door seating area covered in vines and lights. Next we walked into the camp and went into this really cute (and good smelling) store called SEED. I have been to the Camp so many times and have never gone it, but I’m so glad I did. They sell organic cosmetics, hand made jewelry, and clothes, but the coolest part was the upstairs. Even the stairs themselves were beautiful. The upstairs is designed as an apartment since all the furniture was for sale and I was in heaven. I told Lauren that this is what our apartment will look like in the future, so in twenty years just stop by my house. I also found the cutest mirror and took LOTs of pictures. After that we went to the hammock which had a sign saying “Rest at your own risk” so obviously we got in it. SO COMFY, SO DANGEROUS. Everyone in the restaurants around us were watching us struggle but it was really fun. We took more pictures and then headed home.

What we wore: I wore a white shirt from Brandy Melville, leggings from Lululemon, a navy rain coat from Athleta, and my purse is from Kate Spade. Lauren wore leggings from Lululemon, a ribbed burgundy tank top from Brandy Melville, and the CUTEST bomber jacket from Nike. We looked cute I must say.

I suggest you go here if you want to eat a lot of food, take a lot of pictures, or are into organic, home grown things. Plus the Pop Bar is opening soon at the Lab so you’ll want to go there! All in all it’s a fun place to go with friends and is super close for many people!

That’s it THANKS!!!!

PS there will be many more blog posts since it’s SUMMER!!!!
